1993 marked the beginning of what we humbly refer to as a “dream school.” King’s was started because of the commitment of three individuals who knew that quality Christian education was desperately needed in the Palm Springs area. Bill Schlesinger was the trustee of the Anderson Children’s Foundation which provided the needed funding to open the school at a quality level. Don DeLair and his wife, Shery, had a history in private and Christian school administration and developed a passion for bringing that same quality to the children of the Coachella Valley. They shared the calling and vision to impact young children’s lives with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ in an educational setting.

As committed Christians, all three of them dedicated their lives to the birthing of King’s Schools and the doors opened in 1994 with 55 students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade.

Every year brought increased enrollment that encouraged the opening of a Middle School in 1999. By the 2000-01 school year, a complete Kindergarten through 8th grade system was established. In 2003, King’s expanded its offerings to include a full-day Preschool for Infants through Pre-Kindergarten. King’s Schools now offers a distinctively Christian education to students from Preschool through 8th grade.

The name, King’s Schools, was chosen to reflect our dedication at every level (Preschool, Elementary, Middle Schools) to the King of Kings and the King at King’s. As an evangelical school, we welcome Christian and non-Christian families alike and offer their child a safe and nurturing environment in an atmosphere of Christian love and learning. We have been honored and blessed to see many students and entire families come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through their enrollment at King’s Schools.

We have seen God’s miraculous hand of provision in the past…we see His hand of blessing today…and we are confident that His hand will continue to provide for us well into the future.
